IBM Lotus® Sametime® 7, IBM's market-leading platform for real-time collaboration, improves corporate culture through innovative use of technology. Lotus Sametime helps streamline access to people and information, improves personal and team productivity, brings together geographically dispersed team members, decreases response times and reduces costs. An integrated business instant messaging and Web conferencing offering, Lotus Sametime is based on three concepts:
- Presence Awareness. See, in advance, if a person – or even an application is available to collaborate, share information, and take action.
- Instant Messaging. Exchange messages and communicate in real time.
- Web Conferencing. Share a document, an application, or an entire desktop, or engage in team whiteboarding activities.
Though basic in nature, these capabilities enable organizations to be more productive in today's business environment. With the help of Lotus Sametime, organizations big and small in all industry sectors, are able to:
Provide instant, anytime access to people and information through integrated presence awareness, instant messaging and Web conferencing capabilities.
Virtually bring together centralized and geographically dispersed individuals and teams, providing the option to securely extend security-rich, real-time collaboration to anyone/everyone in the extended value chain.
Improve individual and team productivity, broadening communications choice beyond the phone, e-mail and in-person meetings.
Enable faster, more informed decision-making by bringing people together -- spontaneously or in a structured fashion.
Improve general and customer-specific response times, ultimately accelerating time-to-market all while providing competitive differentiation/advantage.
Reduce cost of ownership/deliver cost-to-value by providing a set of real-time capabilities in a single product offering and by providing flexible integration with existing infrastructures and Web applications.
Reduce the need for business travel, delivering fast and often measurable return on investment (ROI).
It's no wonder that more than fifteen million people worldwide use Lotus Sametime every day to communicate, collaborate, and work in new ways. IBM Lotus Sametime is a primary e-business tool of choice!
